Suspect in custody after leading police on high-speed chase from Kaufman to Dallas counties

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A suspect is under arrest after prompting police on a high-speed chase that originated in Kaufman County and ended in Dallas County, Monday afternoon.

According to NBCDFW, the chase originated in Kaufman where Kaufman Sheriff's deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop violation, it was then that the driver of the black sedan refused to stop.

Texas DPS was called in to assist at about 1:15 p.m. before the chase led authorities into Dallas County. NBC says the chase reached a speed maximum of 115 mph.

Around 2:15 p.m., the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. After jumping several fences, an officer and a K-9 caught up to him and apprehended him.
