The holidays can be a difficult time, especially for children living in the aftermath of criminal child abuse. Each year, Dallas Children's Advocacy Center brings a smile to thousands of their clients' faces when they provide them with gifts and toys through the annual Holiday of Hope program.
"Despite what they might be going through, we know that kids are resilient and kids are joyful, and our Holiday of Hope program aims to bring some of that joy back to their lives," says Murphey Sears, chief development officer at DCAC.
This year, each child will receive a reading book, a necessity such as pajamas, a warm coat or fuzzy blanket, and 3-4 age-appropriate toys or gifts. They suggest allocating $150 per child, whether you choose to purchase gifts or make a monetary donation.
