The Texas Education Agency is preparing for the summer months when they will see a lot of openings for teachers in Texas schools.
A new study found almost 2 thirds of teachers say they have at least thought about leaving the profession. So, how does Texas recruit and retain the best teachers for the next school year? The TEA has put together a new task force to deal with those vacancies. It's called the Texas Teacher Vacancy Task Force
On today's Ask The Expert, Eric Hale joined us. He is an elementary school teacher at Burnet Elementary School in the DISD and one of the new members of the Teacher Vacancy Task Force. He's also a winner of the Texas Teacher of the Year Award.
