Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of Dallas over the weekend for a "Mega March," calling for an end to deportations and urging bipartisan immigration reform.

Participants said they aimed to counter negative messages about Latinos and advocate for fair immigration policies. Local and state politicians, including U.S. Rep. Al Green, D-Houston, addressed the crowd at Dallas City Hall.

While organizers dubbed this event a "Mega March," it was not the first of its kind in the city. In 2006, an estimated 500,000 people marched through downtown Dallas in what was considered the largest civil rights demonstration in Texas history.
