The suspected illegal immigrant who was arrested for the September death of a Dallas ISD employee has been indicted for felony murder.
Mesquite Police arrested 34-year-old Sixto Banegas Matute from Balch Springs in January for murder in connection to the death of Jennifer Mendez Olascoaga.
Her body was found in Mesquite several weeks after she went missing. An arrest affidavit obtained by NBC 5 revealed that investigators found human hair, bones, and a torso scattered in a wooded area off I-20.
Mesquite Police Department then obtained her phone records and discovered a call and text messages to and from Olascoaga and the suspect around the time she was at the QuikTrip, according to NBC 5.
Call detail records were then obtained for the suspect's phone. The affidavit said both Jennifer's and Matute's phones pinged in the same area along I-20 within a few seconds of each other. Both phones then pinged in the area where the human remains were discovered.
Matute is being held on $1 million bond by Dallas County and has an immigration detainer on him from the Department of Homeland Security - Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
