Police in Rockwall are investigating after an infant was found dead inside a vehicle at Rockwall-Heath High School Tuesday afternoon.
Officers say they received a call around 4:40 p.m. about an unresponsive child in the school’s parking lot.
Investigators later determined the baby had been left unattended in a car earlier in the day at a nearby home before being discovered at the school.
No further details have been released about how the infant ended up at the campus, and authorities have not said if any charges will be filed.
The Rockwall Police Department says the case remains under active investigation.
