A local nonprofit that fights to empower families who are in crisis is hosting a golf tournament this month.
Coming up Monday September 18th, Interfaith Family Services is hosting their 16th annual golf classic. The money raised will be used to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty.
Kiaria Lipscomb is their Community relations manager. She spoke with KRLD's Kristin Diaz and David Rancken about how this event helps them each year to serve our community in need.
She says their clients budgets are getting tighter and tighter each year with them becoming just one emergency away from homelessness.
Interfaith Family Services currently serves about 200 families with rent and utility assstances, transitional housing, job training, and even childcare. They've been serving the metroplex since the '80s, with a holistic approach to teaching their clients lifestyle management
