With most of its employees working from home anyway, JC Penney has moved its headquarters out of the Plano campus it built in 1992.
Penney is in bankruptcy but expects to emerge from the process before the end of the month.
The local newspaper reports the headquarters on Legacy Drive is now in the hands of Plano-based Beal Bank.
When Penney moved into the campus nearly 30 years ago, it had nearly 200,000 employees. That figure is now closer to 60,000.
