Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - A Tarrant County district court judge has granted a request for a restraining order from a group of Fort Worth ISD parents seeking to block the school district's mask mandate.
141st District Court Judge John Chupp granted that request Friday afternoon and scheduled a hearing for August 26th at 10:00 a.m.
The first day of school in the Fort Worth ISD is Monday.
In a statement, the Fort Worth ISD says while issuing the mask mandate on Tuesday was the right thing to do, it will honor the court's order blocking the requirement for the time being.
