The jury in the capital murder trial of a 78-year-old Benbrook man today heard the accused killer confess to the police.
The questioning of Glen McCurley, some 46-years after the murder of Carla Walker, went on for more than an hour before he cracked. Faced with DNA evidence that tied him to the rape and strangulation of Walker in 1974, McCurley admitted he was the killer.
McCurley went on to say he had been drinking that night. He said he was not looking for trouble when he came across Walker and her boyfriend.
He says he did not go out that night meaning to harm anyone.
