The Keller ISD school board is expected to vote on two contentious topics that have been making headlines for months; books and guns in schools.
Guns and books, two controversial topics these days, especially when it comes to their place in public schools.
On Monday night the Keller ISD is tackling both issues at what's expected to be a divisive school board meeting.
The district made headlines earlier this year when it pulled more than three dozen books from library shelves including the Bible and a graphic novel adaption of the Diary of Anne Frank.
Tonight, trustees are planning to vote on adding gender fluidity to the list of criteria that results in books getting removed.
The school board is also expected to vote on a measure that would allow the Superintendent to let certain school district employees carry handguns on campus and at school-sponsored events for safety reasons.
