Soccer fans from around the world are gathering in Addison this week as the town hosts its "Kick It in Addison" World Cup watch party series at Addison Circle Park.
The free event runs through Sunday and features live match screenings on a giant outdoor screen, food trucks, family activities, entertainment, and themed celebrations tied to the FIFA Club World Cup.
Abby Morales, director of Special Events and Theatre for the Town of Addison, said the event is designed to bring fans together and celebrate the global nature of the sport.

"We're excited to welcome the world and all of the fans that are celebrating," Morales said. "The World Cup really unites countries, and we're excited to be a part of that right here in the heart of the DFW Metroplex."
Morales said organizers expect roughly 5,000 people each day during the four-day event. Opening day drew large crowds for matches featuring Mexico and South Korea, highlighting the diversity of North Texas.
"What we talked about last night is that the Metroplex is truly a melting pot of all cultures," Morales said.
Among the vendors on site is Tapville's mobile tap room. Managing Partner Chad Ragland said the atmosphere reminds him of the camaraderie he experienced while serving in the military.

"It feels great," Ragland said. "You get all the different types of culture in the military, just like we have out here at the World Cup, celebrating sportsmanship and camaraderie."
In addition to soccer matches, visitors can enjoy bounce houses, interactive activities, live music, and themed programming throughout the weekend. Admission and parking are free, and organizers encourage attendees to use DART's Silver Line to reach Addison Circle Park.
