A Lake Worth man has been arrested after police say he used his children to solicit money in a store parking lot on Black Friday.

Officers responded to a call reporting three children — a 13-year-old girl, a 6-year-old boy, and a 2-month-old baby — asking drivers for money in the parking lot of a local store, White Settlement police say. Officers observed the children for 30 minutes before 43-year-old Samuel Marin arrived and claimed to be their father.

A background check revealed Marin was wanted on a money laundering charge out of Dallas County. He was arrested at the scene, and Child Protective Services took custody of the children.

Authorities are reminding residents that city resources are available for families in need, urging individuals to seek help through official channels rather than resorting to unsafe or unlawful actions.
