As Omicron cases surge again Lancaster ISD has decided to go back to virtual learning from the holiday break. The district announced they would be going to virtual learning again via email and social media.

Dallas ISD teacher and Union President Rena Honea says it will bring challenges with just two days notice.
"That could cause some real issues for parents who have not been aware, who have not been able to make arrangements for their children to have someone with them, or provide that support for digital learning," Honea said.
Dallas ISD at this time will be planning to return to the classroom in person.
Lancaster ISD will re-assess the situation on Friday. Tuesday will be a transition day to make sure that all students are able to connect remotely. Monday the district will also be running a vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at Lancaster High School for students and parents.
