There are concerns the FIFA World Cup could increase an ever-constant problem in the United States.

Experts are worried about a surge in human trafficking given the supply and demand during major sporting events.

JoDee Neil with Neil Now Legal says it is a good thing law enforcement are out ahead of the event explaining how they will be fighting any possible surge.

"The more awareness that we bring to the issue, the more a perpetrator might stop and think before they act," Neil said. "It's also really important for the community especially when we look at individuals who are going to have access to a criminal population."

She says parents should be aware of what their children are up to on their phones.

She specifically mentioned Roblox and Snapchat as apps where perpetrators try to get access to children.

Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said major events like the World Cup could create an uptick in human trafficking.

"It will be something that we will be focusing on," Chief Comeaux said. "We are going to let the secret out of the bag, we will be working undercover in this area."

Chief Comeaux said he has had conversations with the U.S. Attorney about this topic. They are prepared to send people to jail if they do something wrong.
