North Texas law enforcement is making clear that they will still be out enforcing local issues throughout the FIFA World Cup.
Both Arlington and Dallas' police chiefs made this point leading up to the start of the five-week event.
Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said they must enforce the local laws with the number of outside fans in town.
"We still will be enforcing motor, traffic," Chief Comeaux said. "If you're speeding, running run lights, stop signs, we will be enforcing that."
Comeaux said a large part of that is because of the number of visitors that will be in the Dallas area.
Arlington Police Chief Al Jones wanted people to know if they have an emergency to not think police are too busy.
"If you need help, and you call 911 during the World Cup, Arlington police officers will be available to respond," Chief Jones said. "This event will not impact the service that our residents should expect and receive."
