Dhroov Bharatia (8th grader from Plano) and Lindsey Roberts (8th grader from Dallas) both qualified for the Scripps National Spelling Bee and traveled to Washington D.C. this week to compete. The two students represented the best 100,000 spellers from more than 700 schools across all of North and East Texas.
The Dallas Sports Commission hosted the regional rounds (virtually) in March, and Dhroov and Lindsey each scored 49/50, good enough to send them to D.C. for the next rounds. The DSC also helped sponsor their trips to D.C.
KRLD's John Liddle talked with Dhroov and Lindsey about their experience competing at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
