A man is being treated for gunshot wounds while Fort Worth police continue looking for the shooter.

It was a puzzling case, at first. Just a little after 6;30 p.m. Monday officials say a 9-1-1 caller reported that a friend had been shot at Cobb Park in southeast Fort Worth.

When police got there no victim was to be found. But some witnesses confirmed there had been a shooting, but the victim may have been taken to the hospital in a private car.

Investigating the park, officers found clear signs of a shooting. In the meantime, a Fort Worth hospital called police to say a man had turned up there with several gunshot wounds including three in the upper body.

Police at the hospital confirmed it was the man shot at Cobb Park and relayed that information to detectives investigating the shooting.

For now, investigators don't know who pulled the trigger or why that victim was targeted.
