More than 60 firefighters worked to put out a large fire at a three-story apartment building in Dallas early Tuesday morning, officials say..
Firefighters arrived at 1615 John West Road around 4:04 a.m., finding flames pouring from the roof. Officials immediately escalated the incident to a second alarm, shifting fire suppression efforts to a defensive approach.
The fire was extinguished at 5:53 a.m. after 60-70 firefighters worked to surround it. The building contains 24 apartments, only five of which are occupied.
The American Red Cross was working with the residents of those five units. No injuries were reported.
