The new-look front office has found their guy. President Masai Ujiri and GM Mike Schmitz have officially brought in 49-year-old Dusty May to lead the Mavs' new era and maximize the development of Cooper Flagg.

In March, May led Michigan to the NCAA championship.


He's known for his offensive scheming and historic Final Four run with Florida Atlantic University. May now steps into his first NBA job hoping to help Dallas implement what is expected to be a high-tempo system. May built an incredible college coaching resume over eight seasons, completely transforming both programs he led. He finished his college career with an overall head coaching record of 190–82 (.699).

Florida Atlantic Owls (2018–2024)

May took over a historically quiet FAU program and turned them into a national powerhouse, highlighted by a magical 35-win season and a trip to the Final Four.
