North Texas is dealing with a full-blown case of Messi Mania, but this time the world's greatest soccer player will be on the pitch at the Cotton Bowl.
Soccer superstar Lionel Messi will join Inter Miami tonight to take on FC Dallas at the Cotton Bowl in a pre-season friendly game. It's the first time FC Dallas has played at the Cotton Bowl since 2009.
Messi came to Frisco in August of last year and put on a show by scoring several goals and leading Miami to an extra-time victory.
The Messi mania hype was real. He brought in a reported $3 million in direct economic impact to the City of Frisco during that visit.
While it doesn't mean anything for their record the game will be a test for FC Dallas as Inter Miami is the betting favorite to win the MLS Cup this season.
