With snakes coming out of their winter doldrums, a Midlothian man has survived a Copperhead bite.
Mark Holton's neighbor posted pictures on Facebook showing a fat Copperhead in a drawer in Holton's tool cabinet wrapped around some screwdrivers and Allen wrenches.
Holton had a bite on one finger but it was what snake experts call a "dry bite" meaning the Copperhead did not inject any venom.
Even Copperhead bites without venom can cause swelling and redness and inflammation. But Holton did not seem to show any symptoms.
Scientists say Copperhead venom is comparatively mild and is rarely fatal to humans.
