More COVID cases are being reported in Dallas county long term care facilities than at any point during the pandemic.
There have been over 850 COVID-19 cases reported from 84 separate long-term care facilities, including 304 staff members over the past 30 days according to health officials.
Kevin Warren the president and CEO of Texas Health Care Association says this is taxing on both residents and staff. He says staff is over worked and stressed out.
"As we see the increase in positivity rates in communities it also means that you're going to see an increase in the volume and amount of testing that has to occur within the facilities themselves to identify if COVID is present in the facility" said Warren.
Over the past 30 days, there have been 90 COVID-19 cases reported from over 14 separate congregate-living facilities.
