More than 2 million pounds of ready-to-eat Korean barbecue pork jerky sold at Costco and Sam’s Club stores nationwide have been recalled because of possible metal contamination, federal officials said.
LSI Inc., a South Dakota company, recalled about 2.3 million pounds of its Golden Island Korean Barbecue Recipe Fire-Grilled Pork Jerky after several consumers reported finding wiry metal pieces in the product, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Oct. 24.
The company traced the contamination to a conveyor belt used during production, officials said.
The affected jerky has “best by” dates between Oct. 23, 2025, and Sept. 23, 2026, printed on the side of the package. Consumers are urged not to eat the product and to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
No injuries have been reported.
