Nearly 50 counties in North-Central Texas are under Heat Advisories today as the Texas fire danger has been upped to a range from moderate to high in all but three of Texas' 254 counties.
Denton and Ellis counties have now issued burn bans, joining more than 140 other Texas counties with such restrictions in place.
The Texas A&M Forest Service says elevated fire weather combined with dry fuels will support wildfires through the weekend in Central Texas, South Texas, the Western Pineywoods and Southeast Texas.
Two wildfires are active today. In addition to the 355 acre Pipeline Fire in Parker County about 150 acres have been blackened by the Big Iron Fire in Edwards County.
