National Weather Service looking for possible tornado damage in North Texas

Crews from the National Weather Service in Fort Worth will head out to investigate tornado reports from Monday night's severe weather outbreak.

NWS Meteorologist Sarah Barnes told KRLD News the main areas of concern are just south of Waxahachie in Ellis County, and near Blum, along the Hill-Bosque County line.

Three people were hurt, one seriously, when several tractor-trailers were toppled along I-35E in Ellis County. Barnes said their experts will look to determine if that damage was caused by an actual tornado, or by straight-line winds.

Meanwhile, Barnes said Monday's largest hail was reported near Rio Vista, in Johnson County. That area saw baseball-size hailstones up to three inches in diameter.
