A North Dallas home has heavy damage from a fire that broke out during last night's thunderstorms that rocked north Texas.
Just before 10:30 p.m. neighbors saw a bright flash and shortly afterward they saw flames coming from a home on Ashton Court, a cul du sac near Hillcrest and 635-LBJ.

Fire crews pulled up to find a two-story home burning furiously. Commanders almost immediately added a second alarm.
It took about an hour to knock the fire down. The family who lives there got out safely including their dog.
Investigators have not said for sure it was sparked by lightning.
