Today marks North Texas Giving Day, the largest annual fundraising event of its kind in the region, as thousands of local nonprofits look to inspire generosity across the community.
The online giving drive, coordinated by Communities Foundation of Texas, allows donors to support a wide range of organizations — from food banks and animal shelters to education initiatives, arts programs, and faith-based groups.
Organizers say last year’s event raised more than $70 million for nearly 3,000 nonprofits, and they’re hoping to match or surpass that total this year. Donations can be made throughout the day at NorthTexasGivingDay.org, with matching funds and bonus prizes available to help stretch contributions even further.
Supporters say the effort highlights the power of small gifts when combined on a large scale, giving everyday North Texans a chance to strengthen the causes they care about most.
