North Texas Vietnamese remembered April 30th on Sunday, recalling the sad day when their beloved one-time capital of Saigon fell to the Communists 48 years ago.

The Fall of Saigon remains a sore point for Vietnamese even nearly a half-century later. Their friends and relatives who were left behind were subjected to the tortures and persecutions of the Communist dictators who still rule the nation to this day.

In Garland Sunday, the Vietnamese American Community of Greater Dallas & Vicinities remembered not only the loss of their homeland but the successes and achievements in their adopted country.

The memorial parade was also held in honor and memory of the more than 58,000 Americans and millions of Vietnamese who died in the war.
