NTSB reviews 2018 gas explosion that killed Dallas girl

The Dallas gas explosion of 2018 that killed a 12-year old girl in the northwest part of town will get a review by the National Transportation Safety board.

The NTSB has put a probable cause hearing on the January 12 docket for the February 2018 exposion.

The natural gas explosion ripped apart the family home at 6:32 in the morning, killing 12-year old Michelita Rogers.

Cracked underground pipes leaked natural gas into homes in the area along Espanola. Two other homes had caught fire days earlier.

Following the initial explosion, 300 homes, 250 apartment units, and a school all had to be evacuated until repairs could be made to the gas lines.

The shifting soil in the area got blame from local investigators for the gas leaks and final explosion.

The NTSB has federal jurisdiction over underground gas lines.
