Oak Cliff woman not charged in connection to her husband's murder, obstructed investigation

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted an Oak Cliff woman in connection with the murder of her husband.

Jennifer Faith has not been charged in state court in connection with the murder of her husband, James, but a new federal indictment says she tried to obstruct the investigation.

In one count Faith is accused of directing the man police say was her boyfriend, Darrin Lopez, 48 of Tennessee, to remove a Texas Rangers sticker from the back window of his pickup truck, because it could tip off police.

In a second count Faith "…did knowingly alter destroy, conceal and cover up a record or tangible object, to-wit: text messages on a cellular phone," the indictment says. The intent was to obstruct the investigation into the October 9, 202 death of James Faith, according to the charges.

James Faith was shot to death near the couple's home.  Days after the murder, Jennifer Faith went public in the media claiming she and James had been walking the dog when someone shot him.

"It seems like a robbery, but we're just not sure.  It seems like a lot of gunshots just to take property from somebody." Faith said in an interview with NBC 5.

So far Lopez is the only one facing charges in State Court. Records show he is accused of murder in Dallas County.

The case was recently filed and has not been reviewed by the grand jury.
