Oncor crews are out in force trying to restore power in areas hardest hit by Monday’s tornadoes.
Officials with Oncor say most people should have power back by the end of the day today.
"The majority of folks have been restored," says Oncor spokesman Andy Morgan. "Hopefully their lives can get back to some sort of normal."
Unfortunately, some homes are damaged to the point that Oncor can’t restore power.
"When there's high winds or tornadoes, things can get ripped off the house or broken," Morgan says. "We try to do our work as quickly and safely as possible. But we can't connect power to a home where there's such extensive damage that it wouldn't be safe."
Morgan says if damage to your is causing your outage, you’ll need to get an electrician to fix it. After that, Oncor will get your power turned back on for you.
Current outages can be tracked online here.
