One of four men arrested for staging an ambush-style shooting at a crowded Dallas block-party in 2021 has pleaded guilty to a reduced murder charge.
It was a Fourth of July block party on Towns Street, in the Hamilton Park area of Dallas where scores of people were celebrating when a Camaro with four people slowly made it's way down the street.
According to police reports, four men appeared from behind parked cars and opened fire at the Camaro. Two people were killed, several others at the party were hit and wounded.
Now one of four men arrested on capital murder charges has taken a plea deal. Court records show that 19-year old Kejuan Lewis was sentenced to 25-years in prison for a felony murder plea. Lewis could have gotten life without parole had he been convicted of capital murder.
The other three suspects are still awaiting trial.
