Over 200 deaths across Texas officially classified as 2021 winter-storm related

The final report released by the Texas Department of State Health Services about last February's winter storm says 246 deaths across Texas have been classified as winter-storm related.

The revised count shows 22 people in Dallas County and 11 from Tarrant County passed away. In addition, this report found that one person died in Wise County.

According to the report, those who died were between the ages of less than one to 102 years old and died between Feb. 11 and June 4, 2021.

Deaths resulted from hypothermia and frostbite, fire-related injuries, crashes, slips and falls, loss of access to medical devices due to power outages and carbon monoxide poisoning.
