The Dallas Cowboys expect to be without linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for Sunday's game against Washington following a hamstring injury sustained during the season-opening loss to the New York Giants.

The injury marks another frustrating setback for Overshown, who has battled health issues early in his NFL career. However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the hamstring issue appeared less severe than previous injuries the linebacker has sustained.

Overshown's absence comes as Dallas works to repair a defense that struggled to generate stops during its opener. To boost the unit, the Cowboys plan to expand the workload of veteran pass-rusher Von Miller, who logged just 11 defensive snaps against New York.

Dallas signed the DeSoto native during the offseason to bolster a pass rush impacted by the trade of star edge rusher Micah Parsons. Jones acknowledged that 11 snaps were fewer than the team envisioned for Miller, though he emphasized that Dallas intended to maintain a heavy rotation along the defensive line.
