One of the things we know here on the KRLD afternoon news... our first responders just don't get enough credit.

They're always there when we need them. Good days, bad days, they see it all.

We talk a lot about mental health in the workplace, at home, schools... but for our first responders, their "office" is different depending on each call. We often assume, since they have such a high-stress job, they must know how to handle it all, right?

Flower Mound Police Detective Michelle Horridge, also the NAMI North Texas OPS manager, joined the KRLD Afternoon News to discuss how peer support can be a tremendous asset.

The two organizations she represents, NAMI North Texas And Flower Mound Police Department have decided to partner for a new Overwatch Peer Support Program. It's a no-cost, in-person, stigma-free mental health support network.
