A Plano house fire may have been caused by last night's lightning, but investigators have not yet confirmed it.

At about 8:00 p.m. Monday night, just as severe weather was passing through North Texas, flames erupted from a home on Crystal Falls Drive in the Kings Ridge development.

Neighbors heard a very loud "crack" and then saw the fire break out, so lightning will be one of the first things investigators consider.

Plano Fire-Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Jaime Reyes says it took about 30 minutes to douse the flames.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Also in Plano, during the thunderstorms, a power line was taken down on 15th Avenue near Medical City Plano.

For several hours, a stretch of 15th was closed between Coit and Plano Parkway but the line was repaired and the road was re-opened overnight.
