
Voters in Plano approved all seven parts of a bond package totalling $647.9 million Saturday. The bond was broken into parts dealing with infrastructure and public safety.
Proposition A includes $316 million for street improvements. The measure passed 72% to 28%.
Proposition B includes $155 million for a new police headquarters and 911 dispatch center. That passed 60% to 40%.
Proposition C listed $51 million for Plano's police training center and passed 62% to 38%.
Proposition D listed $37 million for fire station improvements and passed 65% to 35%.
Proposition E sought $45 million for renovations at Plano's fleet operations center and passed 56% to 44%.
Proposition F included $1.9 million for library improvements and passed 67% to 33%.
Proposition G included $40 million for park renovations and passed 72% to 28%.
The City of Plano says the maximum impact on the property tax rate would be 2.9 centers. The city says owner of a $579,554 home, the average home value in Plano, would pay an additional $134.48 annually.
Over 20 years, the city says it expects to pay $647.9 million in principal for the bonds and $291.5 million in interest.
Across Collin County, the elections department says turnout for local elections Saturday was just 11%.
