A North Texas police chief wants students playing a certain game to stop in the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Celina Police Chief John Cullison says the Senior Assassins game could result in someone getting seriously hurt.

The game is played by some high school seniors across the United States usually by using water guns on pretend targets.

“We had a call for service where it was ‘Man with a gun’ and ultimately what it was just a kid with a water gun playing a game,” Chief Cullison said. “The gun looked realistic. As you can imagine, it could have been a tragic event.”

That call happened the same day as Kirk’s assassination in Utah.

“We are not anti-fun police, that’s not our goal, and also it’s not illegal to play this game,” Chief Cullison said. “What it could cause is a tragic incident.”

Not only was there overwhelming support on the police department’s social media post but the Celina ISD issued a statement in agreement with the chief.

“When the Celina Police notified us of their own concerns, we fully supported their efforts to intervene and to help our families to guide their senior toward more positive ways they can enjoy this important year in their lives,” Superintendent Dr. Tom Maglisceau said in a statement.
