Dallas Police have arrested a man for a hit and run crash Sunday night. They say David Polley, 67, hit a six year old girl near Belt Line and Preston about 10:30.

Police say the girl was walking alone in the street on Belt Line. They do not know why the child was alone, but after Polley hit her, they say he pulled into a parking lot and then drove off.

"That driver did not stay, did not render aid," says Dallas Police Lieutenant Tramese Jones.

The girl died at the hospital.

Police released surveillance video from a nearby business as they tried to find the person who hit her. People have also left cards and flowers at the spot where the girl was hit.

Wednesday morning, Dallas Police said Polley had been arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of collision involving death. They said Polley had been booked into the Dallas County Jail. His information had not been posted to the jail's inmate database Wednesday afternoon.
