As the Texas Rangers prepare to kick off their 2025 MLB season against the Boston Red Sox at Globe Life Field, the retractable roof remains a topic of discussion.
The decision to open or close the roof is influenced by weather conditions, including temperature, humidity, and rain forecasts. Typically, the roof stays closed if temperatures fall outside the range of 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit or if humidity exceeds 50%, as high humidity can make concourse areas slippery.
Both teams must also agree on the roof's status, though Major League Baseball may intervene during playoffs.
For today's Opening Day game, scheduled to start at 3:05 PM, temperatures are expected to range from 63 to 76 degrees, with a possibility of rain in parts of North Texas.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, with parking lots opening at 10 AM and gates at noon.
The first 30,000 attendees will receive a magnetic schedule as part of the season's promotional kickoff.
The Rangers are looking to start their season strong in their sixth opener at Globe Life Field.
