People in one northwest Tarrant County community are fighting efforts to build a landfill nearby.
Dallas-based BAP Kennor Landfill is planning on building the landfill on Silver Creek Road, just west of Lake Worth. The company was issued a permit for the landfill back in the 70's, but Tarrant County Commissioner Manny Ramirez says a lot has changed since then.
In a statement, BAP Kennor Landfill says it's aware of the community's concerns and has hired a team of professionals to address all aspects of the project.
A public meeting on the project will be held at Brewer High School on December 5th at 7 p.m.
