21 documented gang members have been arrested in a multi-agency operation that began in Arlington and spread across the entire Metroplex.
Arlington Police Chief Al Jones says the suspects are connected to the "Kiccdoe" street gang that is associated with a variety of crimes from burglaries to murder.
"Earlier this year, a teenage girl was shot and injured by stray gunfire that went into her family's apartment," Chief Jones said.
"We arrested multiple Kiccdoe members in connection to that incident."
Arlington eventually brought in the help of the FBI.
FBI Dallas Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jeremy Wright says these arrests are only the first step.
"I can assure you if there are additional members of Kiccdoe who are feeling pretty lucky today, I think they should re-evaluate," ASAC Wright said.
Several agencies took the suspects into custody last week simultaneously from Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Dallas, and Forney.
They range in age from 18 to 23 and have been slapped with federal Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization, or RICO, charges.
