When Shaquille O’Neal bought a house in DFW last year, many wondered what brought the former NBA player to the metroplex. However, the Hall of Famer quickly proved he was ready to be a Texan again, after spending his early years in San Antonio, doing good deeds for people throughout the metroplex during his time here.

Now, Shaq is once again proving his love for North Texas, as he recently announced plans to host his first ever music festival at Panther Island in Fort Worth later this year.

For weeks, Shaq has been teasing the announcement of his first ever music festival, Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival. Now, it has been revealed that the festival will take place Saturday, September 16 at Panther Island.

According to CBS Texas, the festival will feature two stages with 14 different bass music artists.

Since retiring from the NBA, O’Neal has had a successful second act as “DJ Diesel.” Now, DFW will get a taste of his music abilities as tickets for the festival go on sale Friday. Thanks to this festival, Shaq can once again say he’s truly a Texan.
