One person is in critical condition after a shooting in the parking lot of Frisco High School on Thursday afternoon that police say began as a road-rage incident.

Officers responded to the campus on Parkwood Boulevard around 4 p.m. and found one victim with gunshot wounds. Investigators said a suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

Frisco Police emphasized that no students were involved and that the incident did not pose a threat to the school or surrounding community. Classes had already been dismissed for the day when the shooting occurred.

Detectives are still investigating what led up to the confrontation, and additional details - including the identities of those involved - have not been released. The district said it is cooperating fully with police as the investigation continues.
