Police got calls about two dogs wandering in the cold near Byron Nelson Parkway and Southlake Boulevard. Police officer Scott Cepak found them and stopped, hoping to get them into his warm squad car. Rather than run for it, the dogs seemed grateful and hopped right in.

"We had a call on two escapees who dug their way out of their fence earlier this morning," Southlake DPS tweeted. "We didn’t get the dogs’ names, so we’ll call them Andy Dufresne and Red to make it easier as we tell this story."

Cepak found the dogs' grateful owners and while talking to them, both dogs hopped upfront to get their cold paws as close to the heater vents as possible. They were later reunited with their family.
