Fewer Americans are planning to travel over the winter holidays.
Bankrate released a new survey Wednesday showing that many Americans plan to pull back over Thanksgiving and December compared to last year.
Only one in five adults say they plan to stay in a hotel, short-term rental, or fly over the holidays.
The survey found that the biggest change involves men, younger adults, lower-income households, and parents with young children.
Holiday travel is expected to be about 27 percent lower than last year.
Bankrate believes the post-pandemic travel demand is finally dwindling because of diminished savings, high interest rates, and inflation.
