A murder suspect is now locked up after surrendering to end an hours-long SWAT stand-off in Arlington that ended early this morning.

It all started just past 6 p.m. Thursday when a man was gunned down near North Fielder and Randol Mill. That victim died at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspected gunman was tracked down to a home on Nueces Trail, a little more than a half-mile away. And there he stayed holed up for nearly nine hours.

The SWAT team was called in and negotiated constantly, trying to talk him out.

Finally around 3 a.m. the man gave it up and was taken to police headquarters. Investigators have not said why the victim was shot in the first place.
