A burn ban is now in effect in Tarrant County. It comes as the Texas Forest Service found unincorporated areas of the county to be under drought conditions.
Violating the burn ban is a class C misdemeanor, punishable by up to a $500 fine. The Commissioners Court approved the burn ban earlier today, and it will remain in effect for 90 days.
