Administrators at TCU are expressing their condolences to the family of Cynthia Peak, a TCU graduate who is one of the victims from Monday's deadly school shooting in Nashville.
In a social media post, TCU Chancellor Victor Boschini writes: "the Horned Frogs family mourns the death of our alumna, Cynthia Broyles Peak, class of 1983 education major. Our prayers for peace and comfort are with her family and loved ones, as well as the entire Nashville community."
Police say Peak was a substitute teacher at the Covenant School on Monday when a former student burst into the school and opened fire, killing three children and three adult staffers.
Peak is one of two victims with ties to North Texas. One of the children who died is the nine-year-old daughter of Reverend Chad and Jada Scruggs.
Reverend Scruggs was an associate pastor at Park Cities Presbyterian Church until 2018 when he accepted the head pastor position at Covenant Presbyterian which is home to the Covenant School.
